Soutrane recording company is dedicated to the new music.
Utilizing Improvisation and multiple recording techniques, soutrane is at the forefront of current sound vocabularies. Collaboration, music genres, and experimentation meet with the full spectrum of musical equipment to create a “post everything” tonal exploration.
Soutrane brings in the new year with a slew of new releases. First off the line is I-Beam, Milwaukee’s leaders in free improvisation. This band features up to three upright bass players, reeds, upright piano, electronics, accordion and reeds. Secondly, the year brings the new Field Of Sound Cd entitled “A Crooked Horizon Line,” and is an exquisite follow up to their highly acclaimed first disc. Ominous beats and textured treated tones await you. Each disc arrives in fancy packaging with one of six different 2′ x 2′ posters.
Soutrane also arrives forward with a continuation of the successful “e” series with “e” standing for experimental, electronic, and esoteric. In this series we’ve got the new sophrosyne e.p. “literate,” further expanding on the genius of the first full length. Also, Mobile Sound Unit comes through with a new e.p. “Alone In Mounting Static Of Cans,” which are improvisations extracted from live Internet audio streams. Newcomer to Soutrane is Heuristics Inc., whose electronica uses both software and hardware, composition and improvisation to produce his slightly off kilter sonic escapades. And lastly, we have Cricket(s), who create a magic tapestry of acoustic and electronic instruments, loops, and samples. A quiet epiphany.
